Bhoomi Sanstha is actively engaged in supporting HIV/AIDS awareness activities among truck drivers, transport workers, and migrant populations through community-based and culturally relevant approaches. The organization works to promote correct information, positive behavior change, and reduction of stigma related to HIV/AIDS.
As part of its collaborative efforts, Bhoomi Sanstha supports awareness programmes conducted through folk media and street plays (Nukkad Natak) at public places such as transport hubs, market areas, industrial zones, and migrant settlements to ensure wider reach and effective community engagement.
The Targeted Intervention (TI) Project is being implemented by GVESS in Haldwani and Lalkuan, and by ISD Sitarganj in Sitarganj. Bhoomi Sanstha is working in collaboration with these organizations to support HIV/AIDS awareness activities under the TI Project.
Through folk media–based street plays, accurate and authentic information is shared on HIV/AIDS transmission, prevention, testing, and treatment. These performances also address myths, misconceptions, fear, stigma, and discrimination, using local language and real-life situations to make the messages easily understandable and relatable.
